Athletics

Nativity Catholic School is a member of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Participation in sports is intended to provide the students with opportunities to learn sportsmanship, overcome tendencies toward excessive competition, learn to keep rules, practice self-control, and acquire ability and physical coordination.

Requirements for participation in the sports program are as follows:

1. Students in grades 5-8 with a 2.0 average (excluding an F in any subject area), and a C in behavior and work habits in all subjects are eligible to try out for an athletic team.

2. Athletes must maintain a 2.0 average (excluding an F in any subject area) as well as a C in behavior and work habits in all subjects to remain on the team. If these criteria are not met by the progress report or report card time, the student will be removed from the team and will not be eligible to participate in that sport until the next progress report or report card is issued.
